--- Mission Details ---

The mission is about dealing with some problems on Mineral Village.

There is a mining company called Black & Gold at the Mineral Village, and they have been attacked by a large monstrous figure. Further, apparently there have been some workers trapped at the site. Some investigations lead into a fact that there seemed to be a territorial dispute with a monster native to the area.

During this mission, Elwen Pilindiel showed again her ability to dodge opponent's attacks, and Xiao Long Bao was helpful in casting a spell to counter language barrier. Kevin Eleanor also contributes in negotiating (and disabling) humanoid opponents.

It is advisable to bring potions of Comprehend Languages (or anything with similar effect), in case it is needed to communicate with someone who speak different language.

A letter of favor request

Dear [Young Men Calistria Association],



It has been several days since the last time we met, I hope there are no further problems with the monster at Tiberias. I also sincerely wish that the progress to spread Calistria's ways is going fine, and the happiness can be spread wide.

However, there has been an unfortunate event that fell upon a colleague of mine, with the name of Elwen Pilindiel. She was one who had been very cheerful during the festival, and was always in a very high-spirit. Due to a string of bad luck, she is trapped in a difficult condition, and her soul have been drained away. It would prove very difficult to restore her to her health.

Therefore, I am writing this letter to you, to request a favor, please help me in restoring Ms. Elwen Pilindiel's health. If you happen to have a powerful caster who can cast Restoration, I would be grateful and willing to return the favor in the future. Currently I can only provide with the materials, but the cost of the service would be tremendous for my condition; also, due to some restrictions, I can not obtain any scroll of the said spell. I hope you can help me in restoring my friend to full health.

--- Mission Details ---

As a preamble of this report, a curious condition of the quests offer on July the 7th [seal] 30th (this reported mission's day) would be emphasized. On the day, there were numerous mission that can be taken, however few of them were as follows:
- to find a missing cat
- to find a stray dog
- to find a necklace that dropped on a road
- to investigate primary school's scribbling
- to work as a labor
- three similar wanted posters

These conditions would make many people wonder on two things. First, about the standardization of GWG missions, as it seems that GWG accept any kind of missions requested by any clients. It is suddenly seemed important to categorize the mission, based on the importance and urgency of a mission; in example a mission for investigate primary school's scribbling might have different priorities with investigation of disease-struck villages. Second, one can only wonder why some clients are willing to spend thousands of GP for a simple missions that can be done by other cheaper alternatives. That is already ignoring on where did the client got the money to be used as reward, and also how much of the reward went into the guild for operational costs.

And with this, the preamble is concluded. the main report is as follows.

The mission was related with [Wanted] posters, sealed (seemingly authentic) by the City Guards of Helionster. Another condition that raised a question was that there were three wanted posters posted at the quest board. It seems that there are three missions with an exactly same theme, and it also raised questions regarding the one-mission-one-week policy; It has been said that a mission already taken by a GWG member could not be taken by someone else, or until one week has passed. However, for this 'mission' (or the [wanted] posters) it seems that anyone could take it, without having to wait expiration. It could means that the policy was never there, or the policy has been changed, or the mission was not a legal mission from GWG (the [wanted] posters are posted without the consent of GWG). Nevertheless, the receptionist was a lady who loved to read books, [[describing the receptionist's features and traits]]; she might be able to clarify this issue.

However, for simplicity, from now on the mission (despite its questionable status) will be referred as 'mission'. There were 6 (six) of GWG members who registered to the mission, but it seems that there is another member with the name of Selene was also registered to the mission, but not in the same batch (thus the questionable status of legality).

The mission was about capturing a group of vandalism misconducts. The wanted poster showed two figures of the culprit. Preliminary information gathering yielded several facts: that they are gnomes and acted around 4th District. The City Guards responsible were of the 4th District as well. A short visit to the city guards of 4th district [[describing the guards / and names if any]], the GWG members learned an interesting information regarding what the trouble was. The guards explained that the wanted groups have been vandalizing the district by paintings, and every time the guards chased them, they managed to knock the guards unconscious. Once the guards became conscious, the vandals were already gone. The guards did not express further important situations that resulted the loss of consciousness, or anything relevant about the encounters.

However, it must be noted that, the guards were able to predict the exact place and exact time of when the culprits will arrive, which is also questionable; how do they acquire the information?

Nevertheless, the group went to check the conditions of the vandalisms, and found out that the culprits indeed left traces of being gnomes, and the damages done to the city was their eccentric paintings, with a provocative messages. After checking the condition of previous vandalisms, the GWG members decided to check the destined place decided by the guards. And it was indeed, they arrive at the exact location and exact time, that made me questioning myself, if the guard can predict with such accuracy, why is it very difficult to ambush them or using battle of attrition to weaken them, or to strike when they are not prepared? Instead they keep on repeating the same way to capture them, and still can not comprehend what did they do to the guards, nor understanding what were the conditions' of the guards.

There was a mistake though, that there were three gnomes instead of two.

The encounter was peaceful at first, until Ogoron West and Selene started to use brute force on the gnomes. Then the gnomes fought back using a very interesting spell called Color Spray. Normally, this spell will not worked too deadly on most of us, however it seemed that they are the chosen ones that can wield such simple spell into deadly efficiency. The result was devastating, as it will render anyone in the spread (around 15ft spray) unconscious immediately. Further, after the unconsciousness, the victim will become blinded and had a terrible headache and confusions. After experiencing that for a few seconds (or minutes), the victim would remain stunned for a few seconds more. This experience seems forgotten by the city guards of 4th district, or simply they were ignorant of important fact; if only they explained in detail regarding the condition, there might be a higher chance for the GWG members to be fully prepared. And let this be a reminder for other GWG members that there will be times that even the party who should know a lot of information could not (or would not) pass a proper and correct information.

During the encounter, Einhart Clemezen showed another shrewdness and efficiency in controlling the battlefield with his magic. Yoru also managed to pin one of the gnomes, that later revealed to have the name of Walcott.

After the encounter, the GWG members started to interrogate and negotiate with the captured gnome. During this period, Brooche showed a good understanding and different perspectives from many side (victims, vandals, guards, and GWG). Einhart Clemezen was logically able to predict many chances, and provide a healthy discussions regarding a better course of actions with less risks. Xiao Long Bao managed to soothe both sides and proved to be good at ice-breaking and preventing a debate to escalate into a dangerous conflict. However some of the district guards were not that helpful, although that might be an exception than rules.

The gnome were fighting for racial equality, but with his own way of expressing things: by creating arts on the city. However, his arts are considered as vandalism by the guards (the buildings' owner's opinion are unknown, so another investigation could be done to clarify whether the arts are accepted by some people, or everyone consider it as vandalism). The mission concluded after the gnome is willing to reverse the condition of the blinded GWG members (idea credited to Einhart Clemezen), after the guards permitted GWG's method in solving the problem (instead of jailing the gnome immediately), and the gnome is applying to GWG to channel his energy (and expressions) toward more beneficial activities (idea credited to Brooche).

As a conclusion of the lengthy report, several matters could be analyzed:
- The cost to pay the GWG members in capturing the gnomes was around 6,000gp (one gnome; if all are caught then it seemed to reach 12,000gp or 18,000gp). As a comparison, a meal at a tavern costs 5gp, and Rank F members might acquire a reward of 200gp in a mission
- Selene might / might not receive reward, since she might / might not on the same mission as the ones stated in this report (thus questioning the one-mission-one-week policy). Clarifications regarding this policy is needed
- Mind-Affecting spells are indeed dangerous, one should prepare in meeting them
- The methods of the 4th District City Guards in predicting criminal movements (even exact location and exact time of the next encounter can be predicted) should be learned
- The informations from 4th District City Guards was not clear enough (despite their superior ability to predict target's movement)
- It should be noted that sometimes unclear (or even false) information might be given during investigations, even from the supposedly authoritative or lawful figure
- Brute force sometimes only deepen troubles
- Standardization of mission (or at least categorization and prioritization) could improve GWG's overall performances, and would help GWG members in the long run

--- Mission Details ---

This is not a mission from the Guild. However, based on the information given by a GWG member named Marielle, we found a chance to lift Einhart Clemezen's curse. The place we traveled was far from Helionster, even a few days further from a rail station. However, it was a very interesting journey, as we met several interesting people.

The first we met during our journey was Will, an owner of horse rental at the rail station. The place was very organized and the horses were highly trained, and we rented two horses to bring us on our journey in order to save time. Then we met with another GWG member named Marissa, who seemed to know each other with Xiao Long Bao. We met and fought with a group of Bearded Devils, with dangerous wounding ability; the wounds resisted magical healing. Further, they can also spread diseases. They also have many resistances to spells and even normal attacks. A silvered weapon, a potent magical weapon, or weapon enchanted by the forces of good should be able to function normally. During this encounter, Kevin Eleanor showed her capability in magical healing, Yoru has shown his prowess in melee fighting, and Xiao Long Bao magically enhanced our fighting capabilities. Unfortunately Einhart Clemezen was overwhelmed by the curse.

After the encounter with Bearded Devils, Marissa took us to a secluded village where we met with Von Veij Hoon, an alchemist capable of creating an elixir that restore Einhart Clemezen. Further, we also bought several sets of Soul Stimulant Elixir, that can be used to suppress negative energy in a body. Negative Energy usually fills the body because of undead strikes or similar deathly effects. Xiao Long Bao also learned several techniques from the village.

The journey to return to Helionster was filled with healthy chats between the party members.

Dear Ms. Marielle,

Unfortunately there seemed to be no significant information regarding the party members this time. However, it seems that Bao is getting closer to Kefa, despite the fact that he made her sad during this journey. Kefa always seemed to wanting to be near with any girls, Ms. Marissa included. He flirted a bit with her, and that it seems that made Bao sad.

After that, Kefa told Bao about Selene (Bao asked him), however I have a feeling that Kefa is intentionally (or subconsciously) avoided the topic a few times. He is good at avoiding questions, and more often than not he looks like a coward. I will keep an open eye to this playboy, just to make sure that Bao will not got hurt (again).

Another thing worth to note is, Ms. Marissa seemed to silently observes our conversations, so maybe you could ask her on the remaining details.

The mission is about helping Ms. Elizabeth Crafter to find her grandfather's will, somewhere in his secret workshop. Finding his secret workshop was also a part of the mission, as well as protecting Ms. Elizabeth Crafter from any constructs that went awry.

Finding her secret workshop was not that difficult by using a magic named Detect Secret Door. After that, Ms. Crafter remembered how to enter the secret workshop, filled with many curious clockwork items. At one part, we encountered a magnificent construct, a last creation of her grandfather, also her grandfather's gift and will. However, due several personal reasons of past understandings, there were conflicts between her and the gift, that almost escalated to conflict between the members of GWG who took the mission.

Mr. Kevin Eleanor acted to attack (with seemingly intended to destroy the gift, just as what raging Ms. Crafter demanded and the gift requested) and seemed to ignore other means to remind Ms. Crafter about her decision. Ms. Xiao Long Bao succeeded in reminding and convincing Ms. Crafter that she made a decision that she will regret, and with Ms. Xiao Long Bao's help Ms. Crafter finally agreed to reconcile. Ms. Selene did nothing significant. After that, Mr. Kevin Eleanor claimed that he had no intention to destroy the last creation of Ms. Crafter's grandfather.

The mission concluded well, with Ms. Crafter continue to nurture her grandfather's last creation and will, and the will itself decided to help Ms. Crafter starting from that day.

It is worthy to note that, many constructs are resistant to magic, and has some significant toughness to normal weapons. Sometimes, the expensive Adamanatine weapon might work. Another alternative is an alchemical reagent called Weapon Blanch, that can be used to cover weapons and ammunition with thin layer of such special materials (adamantine, cold iron, silver, and the utterly useful Ghost Salt). There was also a magical amulet called Golem's Bane Scarab that can also work to remove construct's special toughness against weapons.

Another note is about the danger of having a conflict of escalating conflict between members.

Dear Ms. Marielle,

As requested, I am keeping you updated with the rumors circulating around me. However, please excuse my style in writing, since I do not think I will change into something too non-formal.

I have observed that Ms. Xiao Long Bao has a deep love to Mr. Kevin Eleanor, however I doubt I can say the same about the other way around. Currently I am feeling that Mr. Eleanor is way worse, and Bao is just too good to be with him. She deserves someone better, thus I said to them (when there were Bao, Mr. Eleanor, and Ms. Selene) that Mr. Eleanor fits very well with Ms. Selene.

Why did I say that? Because there have been several occurrences that I have seen and heard by my own eyes and ears.

First, the relations between Mr. Eleanor and Ms. Selene. For someone that have been assaulted and nearly killed several times, Mr. Eleanor keeps on approaching Ms. Selene, and seemed to be trying very hard to be with her. I was keeping a secret since back then during a mission regarding a zombie outbreak at south of Helionster, but since Mr. Eleanor have told the stories few days ago on the train, I found it to be alright to open this. The fact that during the mission of Zombies, Ms. Selene attacked Mr. Eleanor lethally. Once, we managed to interrupt their battle; it was during a very difficult situation, and we need any person to be able to contribute something, not perform infightings. Then, when we finally left them alone, I concluded that Ms. Selene once more (unfortunately reason is unknown) struck Mr. Eleanor with a very deadly and lethal strike (combining the might of a curvy scimitar, deadly precision, and a powerful spell called Shocking Grasp), and then left Mr. Eleanor to bleed to death. She slept after she struck Mr. Eleanor down. We arrived only to found a dying Mr. Eleanor, and it was pure luck that made us able to revive him. No one knows what happened, but I can see the marks, the scene, and everything. I asked Mr. Eleanor about what happened, and he answered that they were fighting some beast. His lie was spotted but was not clear enough, so I decided to confirm that to Ms. Selene. Once Ms. Selene is awake, I thanked her that she and Mr. Eleanor worked together to defeat a monster. She honestly looked confused, and told me that she struck him down. Now, I can only say that Ms. Selene struck a party member down, without having any regret, and letting him to bleed to death (by sleeping like nothing happens), during a difficult mission when we need everyone to support one another. I do not know whether this kind of attitude is normal on GWG, but I assume this is an exception rather than a rule.

Second, still continuing the previous zombie incident, Mr. Eleanor decided to protect Ms. Selene, by lying to everyone else. No one saw through his lie back then, but I confirmed to Ms. Selene that he was lying. This only proves two things: Mr. Eleanor protected Ms. Selene with his life, and Mr. Eleanor is a very good liar; Now I do not know what can be trusted from such a good liar (I am concerned with Bao, since she seems to love him so much, that she let herself to be deceived by Mr. Eleanor, willingly).

Third, Ms. Selene and Mr. Eleanor tends to 'attack first, ask later', at least during several encounters we had together. I might be wrong here, but please let me know if I was indeed mistaken at this third opinion.
